The Nature Library is excited to be part of Climate Fringe Festival 2022, a community-led and community-organised series of events taking place across the whole of Scotland, bringing books to two new venues to highlight the importance of literature in times of climate crisis.
Books have a unique ability to inspire and inform, and in the midst of a climate emergency have become a more crucial tool than ever for communicating climate issues on both global and local levels, taking us to places we’ve never been and sharing stories by people we would otherwise never meet.
Join The Nature Library at Ullapool Ferry Terminal for a weekend of books about Scotland’s coast, its past and its future. With six times more sea than land, the collection will shine a light on Scotland’s coastal communities of both land and sea, exploring their interdependence and asking how we can build resilient, reciprocal and enduring relationships between all coastal inhabitants.
Open 9am - 5pm Saturday and Sunday, free to attend.
Featuring an Oyster Table by Seawilding, showcasing their work restoring native oyster beds in Loch Broom.
