Climate Fringe: Cladach

  • Arran Botanical Drinks Isle of Arran, Scotland, KA27 8DE United Kingdom (map)

The Nature Library is excited to be part of Climate Fringe Festival 2022, bringing books to two new venues to highlight the importance of literature in times of climate crisis.

Join The Nature Library at Arran Botanical Drinks’ Beach House in Cladach for a weekend of stories on food, and drink, sustainability and land use, foraging, botanical art, growth (and degrowth), and more. As the former site of the Arran Nature Centre, The Nature Library will be celebrating its history while also looking at the future of Scotland’s coastal communities though stories and botanical activities, from plant pressing to foraging, brewing and distilling ingredients foraged from Arran’s natural larder.

The team at Arran Botanical Drinks will be showing visitors the production process of Cassis - a liqueur made with blackcurrants harvested their from local Whiting Bay grower Robin Gray.

Local food will be on offer with a pop up by The French Fox.

Come press local plants and flowers to create your own bookmark adorned by the local flora around the Cladach Beach House.

And of course, relax with a wide selection of books inspired by the landscape of Arran and beyond.
