Shared Stories: A Year in the Cairngorms is the culmination of a project from Merryn Glover during her time as the Cairngorms National Park’s first ever Writer in Residence, put together with the help of writer Anna Fleming. Glover encouraged people across the Park and beyond to share their stories of the Park, capturing what they mean to people and the many different ways they are experienced, known and loved, creating a book full of poems and prose, memories and visions celebrating the shared love and experiences of the Cairngorms.

Merryn Glover is a novelist and playwright with work widely published on BBC Radio Scotland and Radio 4. Her upcoming second novel, Colvin’s Walk, is set in the Cairngorms. As the Cairngorms’ Writer in Residence, Glover facilitated the Shared Stories project and led creative writing workshops with people across the park.

Anna Fleming writes non-fiction and poetry about adventure, environment and ecology. Her work has been published in Waymaking, Caught By The River and on her blog thegranitesea.wordpress.com. She worked as the project manager for Shared Stories, and is currently working on a nature-writing book about rock climbing for publication in 2021.
