Picturing America’s National Parks, Jamie M Allen

It’s raining today, which calls for dreams of the outside world even more so than yesterday. Picturing America’s National Parks by Jamie M Allen (Aperture) brings together landscape photographers who have captured the country’s magnificent landscapes across the years. Including photographers such as Ansel Adams, Imogen Cunningham and here, Victoria Sambunaris, the book traces the history of America’s parks and the people who visit them through a series of stunning and diverse images.

Thank you very very much to our friends (and incredible photographers themselves) Otago Street Collective for donating this beautiful book.

Jamie M. Allen is associate curator in the department of photography at the George Eastman Museum, Rochester, New York. Allen’s work at the Eastman Museum focuses on exhibition development and care of the collection. She curated the exhibitions Picturing America’s National Parks as well as The Photographer in the Garden, for which she coauthored the book (Aperture, 2018).
