A B Tree, Mandy Haggith

A-B-Tree-Mandy-Haggith.JPG

A B Tree by Mandy Haggith is a sequence of poems celebrating the ancient link between trees and writing expressed by the Gaelic tree alphabet or Ogham — a poem for each tree in the alphabet. Each is displayed unconventionally at the bottom of the page, rooted, and its inside cover displays the Gaelic tree alphabet with a series of coinciding photographs by Bill Ritchie.

Mandy Haggith is a writer based in Assynt. Her work includes poetry, fiction and non-fiction and is mostly concerned with trees, bears and the sea, as well the way the minds of people work, how our relationships shape us and how we express ourselves in words, music and images.

This book was kindly donated by the folks from Tell It Slant during our time at The Project Cafe — thank you!
