The Nature Library will be at Grinneabhat in Bragar, Isle of Lewis this autumn as part of Weeds, Wild Oats and Other Stories, taking place alongside the work of Magdalena Choluj.

The collection will be shaped by the botanicals drawn by Magdalena including species particular to the landscape of Lewis—such as the black oat, I’m excited for the oats—looking at their cultural significance, representation in art and literature, local traditions, past and present meanings, medicinal and culinary uses. The exhibition hopes to bring light into the curious characters of the selected plants through simple forms of expression, like pen and ink, or words on paper.
